OTC Elite To Support Youth Track And Field Clinic This Saturday At Hayward Field

Eugene, Oregon – The Oregon Track Club Elite is set to help host the Youth Track and Field Clinic this Saturday, March, 20th 2010.  The clinic is being hosted in conjunction with the City of Eugene Recreation Services and the University of Oregon.  The Clinic will take place at Historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon Campus from 11:30am to 12:30pm. 

All youth athletes ages 5-12 that participate will receive a bib number a prize ribbon, post event snack and a chance to meet OTC Elite athletes during the clinic and again during the post event autograph session.  Participation in the Clinic also includes free admission to the Oregon Preview that takes place immediately after the clinic.

Track To Host Free Youth Clinic Saturday
Top athletes and coaches from Oregon Track Club Elite and the University will work with kids.

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon and the Oregon Track Club Elite, in conjunction with the City of Eugene’s Recreation Services, are sponsoring a free kids clinic for children ages 5-12 Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hayward Field prior to the Ducks’ outdoor season opener, the Oregon Preview.

Kids will be instructed by OTC and UO athletes and coaches in running, jumping, hurdles and the “turbo” javelin.

All children will receive a ribbon, meet bib, snack, and free entrance to the Oregon Preview, in addition to being able to participate in a special autograph session.

Those kids interested in participating are asked to bring their own running shoes, and check in beginning at 10:45 a.m. at the Agate Street entrance between Gates 8 and 9.

Among those from OTC elite participating include Will Leer, Lauren Fleshman Thomas, Russell Brown, Jake Morse, Ben Bruce and Ben True, in addition to appearances by Billy Nelson, Jemma Simpson, Geena Gall, Matt Scherer, Mark Wieczorek, Tyler Mulder, Christian Smith, John Jefferson, Stephen Pifer, Sally Kipyego, Kevin Chelimo, Elias Koech, Ian Dobson and Julia Lucas.

The University will have combined events coach Harry Marra on hand, as well as NCAA Champions Andrew Wheating and Brianne Theisen, and All-Americans Nicole Blood, Jordan Hasay, Cyrus Hostetler, Alexandra Kosinski, Luke Puskedra, Anne Kesselring, Mac Fleet and Mike Simmons, among others
