Ena Shemi led a strong performance by the Portland State women's track team, winning two
events at the Oregon Preview Meet in Eugene. The Viking women won a total of four events,
with Jordan Senn winning the javelin for the men's team.
Shemi ran 12.13 seconds to win the 100 meter dash. She beat teammate Angel Davis, who finished
second, by eight-hundredths of a second. Shemi's time in the 200 meters was a wind-aided 24.91.
Another Viking teammate, Ashley Pugh, placed second in that event, recording 25.65 seconds. The other event wins for the women's team came from Staci Bielenberg in the 800 meters and Kerry-Ann
Blackwood in the long jump. Blackwood went 19'3.25" to set a new school record in the long jump. She also ran the 100 meter
hurdles in 14.56 seconds to place second. Both marks were Big Sky qualifiers and personal bests. "Kerry-Ann had a very good meet," said Coach Kebba Tolbert. "She had a huge PR in the hurdles and a
conference leading jump in long jump." Emily Dahl was third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.78. Dahl was also second
